About the Artist

Rebecca Taylor

Originally from Alberta, I have been involved in art in one way or another since I was little as both my parents have formal art training and they involved my sister and I in fun art activities like painting, drawing, enameling and more. My dad was even my art teacher from grades 1 to 9

I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Design with Distinction from the University of Alberta. After doing some illustration work, I decided that I would explore the business side of the arts and earned an Arts Administration Certificate with Distinction from MacEwan University. After heading west, multiple moves around the West Coast and a few career changes along the way, I have found new inspiration and energy to more fully explore my creative side.

Whether using stunning handmade papers as a backdrop to paintings of birds, butterflies and bugs or using photos from my adventures and everyday life to create patterns, I have found joy in creating these collections for you. I love seeing my designs and illustrations on items that serve a purpose while being enjoyed by the person using it.

When not creating art, I work full time in communications, give back to my community through Rotary, spend as much time as I can in our beautiful West Coast forests, often with a dog in tow, and explore the island looking for great views and spots that serve a good espresso with my husband Scott.
